Educational Goals

The primary objective of Ondokuz Mayıs University's Child Development Undergraduate Program is to train qualified child development specialists who can assess children's developmental characteristics from birth to adolescence with a scientific, ethical, and holistic perspective, prioritizing the well-being of children and their families.

The program aims to equip students with a multifaceted assessment of children's cognitive, language, motor, social-emotional, and self-care developmental domains, identify developmental differences, and plan appropriate supportive programs. It also aims to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application skills on topics such as children's rights, inclusive education, early intervention, family education, play, and creative activities.

To this end, program graduates will:

Use scientific thinking and research skills to implement evidence-based practices in the field of child development.

Effectively participate within multidisciplinary teams in educational and health institutions, early childhood centers, and special education settings.

Contribute to the development of policies that benefit children, families, and society.

Become individuals committed to professional ethical principles and committed to lifelong learning.
